Hudson Yards NYC: All The Tips to Visit the Vessel, Mall, Food & More!
Hudson Yards is NOW OPEN! The NEW neighborhood of Manhattan that will make you feel like you’re in another city! HUGE space where you’ll find the first giant indoor mall of Manhattan, luxury offices & residences, a food court, the trendy spiral staircase, skyscrapers, outdoor gardens & more.
Since it’s the new thing in Manhattan and considering the weather is much nicer, it’s super crowded, especially on weekends! So expect many people everywhere you go in Hudson Yards! Outside, in the mall, the food shops, etc.
Is it worth visiting Hudson Yards?
It’s worth visiting if you live here or if you’ve already seen the main NYC Attractions & have time to explore more. I feel it looks like Brickell in Miami with the huge mall & all the “Miami-style” buildings… it’s not really what makes New York, New York 😉 But cool to see at least once. I don’t think I’m coming back too often though LOL. I prefer doing my shopping and eating in other areas of Manhattan. I think it’ll be those kinds of places that New Yorkers will try to avoid like Times Square & now Hudson Yards 😉
Tips before you go:
- If you can, try to go on a weekday to beat the crowds.
- Mornings are better to avoid crowds.
- If you go with STROLLERS, I’d avoid going on weekends. Way too many people, meaning not enough space even for the strollers. Maybe early in the morning is fine! But avoid weekend-afternoons if you prefer not dealing with crowds & space even at such a gigantic mall!
Where is Hudson Yards NYC?
Between 30th & 34th Streets and 10th & 11th Avenues. On the West side of Manhattan, next to Hudson River.

- SUBWAY: take the Subway 7 to 34th Street – Hudson Yards Station. You can go with any subway to Times Square and from there combine with the 7 to Hudson Yards.

An “itinerary” suggestion to visit Hudson Yards: you can go after visiting the Meatpacking District & after having lunch at Chelsea Market, hopping on the High Line at 14th Street up to Hudson Yards so you get to see the view from the High Line too!

Did you know Hudson Yards is the largest private real estate development in the United States by square footage? A $25 billion development.
Before Hudson Yards, the place was pretty isolated with train rails & nothing going on around the area. The full development is expected to be completed by 2025.
