This awesome Harry Potter Exhibition, ‘A History of Magic’ is now Open at the New York Historical Society Museum & Library on the Upper West Side! Celebrating 20 years since the magic of Harry Potter’s books came to the US. Really cool for Harry Potter fans!
What’s “Harry Potter, A History of Magic” about? You’ll see how the magic & myth began by the author J.K. Rowling, her ORIGINAL handwritten first drafts & sketches of the fabulous world of Harry Potter and amazing unique material that you won’t find at other places! Explore the subjects learned by Harry & his friends at Hogwarts through this magical collection of the British Library & NY Historical Society.
You’ll also find the VERY FIRST BOOK of Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling when she was raising money, with her own handwritten notes! Wanna also see her original handwritten charts of Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix deciding what chapter goes first? It’s all here!

Try booking your tickets in advance because they will be selling out fast!

You can try purchasing tickets on the day of the visit, but it’s not recommended due to their high demand.
Ticket includes the other exhibitions at the New-York Historical Society as well!

- Seniors (65+): $16.
- College & High School Students: $13.
- Kids (5-13): $6.
- Kids 0-4 Free! You must book them in advance.
ONLINE PURCHASE: additional 3% credit card fee + $1 booking fee (kids: $0.75) per ticket.
PHONE ORDER: additional $1.25 booking fee per ticket.
AT THE MUSEUM: no extra charge.
Free tickets don’t pay a booking fee.

Tuesday to Thursday: 10am – 6pm.
Saturday: 10am – 9pm.
Sunday: 10am – 5pm
Last entry: 45 minutes before closing.
