Where to Eat Close to Rockefeller Center

Thousands of people visit Rockefeller Center daily (to see the place, do Ice Skating, go to Top of the Rock, etc) and many asked me where to eat close to Rockefeller Center when they were nearby. Hope this info helps!

ROCKEFELLER PLAZA FOOD COURT

30 Rockefeller Plaza. Lower Level.

About the place: Very touristy. Might get crowded. Not my favorite choice. Some of the options available:

  • Au Bon Pain: café bakery
  • Tri Tip Grill: average prices, good for sandwiches.
  • Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar
  • Ben & Jerry’s: ice cream

About the place: Vegetarian/vegan. Good for burgers, sandwiches and salads. Spacious.

Price: average. $6-12.

BOUCHON BAKERY

About the place: nice French bakery. Limited seating. Good for coffee and pastries.

Price: average.

SAKS FIFTH AVENUE: CAFE SFA

Fifth Ave. between 49th & 50th Sts. 8th Floor.

  • About the place: nice place with nice view, convenient if you’re already shopping at Saks. A bit fancy. Indoors with a terrace.
  • Price: $18-30.
THE SEA GRILL

49th St. between 5th Ave & Rockefeller Plaza. Lower level.

About the place: fine gourmet dining, right next to the ice skating rink.

Price: expensive. About $35-40 each main course.

MAGNOLIA BAKERY

Magnolia Bakery Rockefeller Center Store

6th Ave. & 59th St.

About the place: famous bakery for their cupcakes. No seats at this location. Grab-and-go spot, even though you have a tiny tall table if you wanna eat / drink there.

Price: average. Cupcakes $3.75.

LE PAIN QUOTIDIEN

Le Pain Quotidien close to Rockefeller Center

5TH AVE: E 53rd St. between 5th Ave. & Madison.

6TH AVE: 6th Ave. between 50th & 51st St.

About the place: casual restaurant & coffee. Good for breakfast/lunch.

Price: average.

SUSHI OPTIONS NEAR ROCKEFELLER CENTER

HAMA JAPANESE CUISINE

Hama Japanese Sushi NYC

51st St. between 5th & 6th Ave.

About the place: nice and casual food and ambience. Closed on Sundays.

Price: average.

HATSUHANA SUSHI RESTAURANT

Hatsuhana sushi NYC

E 48th St. between Madison & Fifth Ave.

About the place: great sushi. Closed on Sundays.

Price: expensive. $25-45.

SUSHI BY BOU

47th St. between 6th & 7th Ave.

About the place: tiny, casual and hidden sushi restaurant, located in the basement. It’s a cool experience.

How to get there: need to find the staircase from the street level, open a wooden gate and walk downstairs to a graffiti covered doorway.

Price: expensive (about $50 per person).
