Coronavirus in NYC: Take a Look at the Empty Streets of New York!

A selection of some pictures and videos showing a very different New York during the Covid-19 Pandemic! A quiet city with empty streets and people wearing face masks. Crazy to see New York like this!

You may wanna check out the reopening phases: Phase 2, Phase 3, Phase 4.

The Streets of Financial District

Filmed on April 28, 2020 in Rush Hour. This was the first beautiful sunny day after many cold & rainy days so more people went out for a walk or to do some exercise. This area was completely empty until a couple of days ago!

Financial District Looks like a Desert | NYC Streets

Filmed on April 24, 2020. It was Friday in Rush Hour. Financial District looks completely isolated!

On a “normal” situation, the Wall Street area would be packed at that time. Many people go for drinks on Stone Street after office hours. So sad to see the city like this, empty and with stores closed!

Rockefeller Center Ice Rink

The rink is closed & empty. They added the NEW YORK TOUGH sign at the rink.

The #NewYorkTough message is based on what Gov. Cuomo said on March 24: “We’re going to get through it because we are New York and because we’ve dealt with a lot of things, and because we are smart. You have to be smart to make it in New York. And we are resourceful, and we are showing how resourceful we are. And because we are united, and when you are united, there is nothing you can’t do. And because we are New York tough. We are tough. You have to be tough. This place makes you tough, but it makes you tough in a good way”.

Hi there :) I'm Jess and I came to NYC to pursue my dream and I feel I'm living it every day. New York is magical and you have to be open to everything because you never know who is sitting next to you on the subway or behind you in the line of the supermarket. I decided to create this blog about NYC because I realized how many powerful tips would have helped me if I knew them before coming to the city from someone who was living in NY! So I thought that it would be awesome to share with you some tips about New York from a New Yorker. I'm going to keep updating this blog so stay tuned :)
