4th of July 2020 Fireworks Starting TONIGHT: Series of 5-minute Fireworks All Week Long
This year due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the fireworks will be displayed differently to celebrate the 4th of July! There won’t be a huge firework display this 2020 as in previous years on July 4th. Instead, there will be fireworks around the 5 boroughs of NYC STARTING TONIGHT (June 29, 2020) till the 4th of July!
When to See the 4th of July Fireworks 2020 in NYC?
All Week Long! From June 29 to July 4, 2020.
We’ll see a series of smaller unannounced firework displays on select nights reaching each borough of NYC throughout the week! These fireworks will have the traditional design & scale of the typical Macy’s Fireworks so they will still be AWESOME!
The duration will be short (5 minutes only!) so you won’t have enough time to “travel” to see them. So stay close to where you live and make sure to follow the safe social distancing guidelines. Stay Healthy & Safe 🙂
Why unannounced? to avoid large crowds all together in one place and make sure every New Yorker remains safe and following the social distancing guidelines.
Fireworks Schedule 2020:
- June 29, 2020: there will be a 5 min. firework display by the East River / Queens.
- June 30, 2020: Location viewable from parts of Lower Manhattan, Northern Staten Island & Northern Brooklyn. My guess is that they’ll be by the Statue of Liberty tonight!
- July 1, 2020: Location TBD.
- More info here & here at Macy’s Fireworks Site.
- Hashtag of event: #MacysFireworks
Enjoy the Macy’s signature fireworks with thousands of shells reaching heights up to 1,000 feet!
4th of July Fireworks on TV: NBC’s national broadcast of the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular is set to air at 8pm on July 4th.
“This year’s show will celebrate New York and America with a spectacular display choreographed to an epic musical score! Tune in to NBC Saturday, July 4, from 8PM-10PM ET/PT or 7PM-9PM CT/MT and watch along with friends and family”.
Enjoy & Stay safe 🙂
Happy 4th of July!
